Ash Tree Removal Along Watts Creek Pathway

As part of its Emerald Ash Borer Management Strategy, the National Capital Commission (NCC) will be removing ash trees affected by the emerald ash borer along Watts Creek Pathway, between between Moodie Drive and the intersection of the Greenbelt Pathway West.

The work will begin on Monday, July 10, 2017, and will extend until Friday, July 14, 2017. Work will be undertaken between 7 am and 5 pm, weather permitting.
In order to ensure user safety, this portion of Watts Creek Pathway will be closed for the duration of the work. The full closure of the pathway is required due to the narrowness of the corridor and the type of equipment required to quickly and safely remove the high density of dead and dying ash trees. Signage will be installed at pathway access points to inform users of the detour.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the NCC’s client services at 613-239-5000 or info@ncc-ccn.ca. For more details about the emerald ash borer management program, please visit our website and see the traffic advisory.
