Official Plan Update: Adoption of Comprehensive Amendment 180

Official Plan Amendment No.180 addresses three matters that the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) required the City to complete, prior to the OMB's consideration of Comprehensive Official Plan Amendment 150 (OPA 150) including:
·        Growth Projections:  Changes to the timeframe of the Official Plan from 2031 to 2036. This change results in new projections for future population, households and employment and text changes to the Plan.
·        Employment Lands: Changes include the conversion of excess urban employment lands to non-employment designations, the re-designation of enterprise areas, the creation of a new rural employment area designation and amended policies and land use permissions for employment areas.
·        Agricultural Lands: Some changes to the agricultural resource area designation were made along with policy updates resulting from the update to the Land Evaluation and Area Review (LEAR) system.
On January 25, 2017, City Council adopted OPA No. 180. Please visit ottawa.ca/officialplan to read more about Amendment No. 180.
