Winter Parking Alerts

Ottawa – Snow clearing operations on City of Ottawa streets are complete following the recent snowfall. As a result, the overnight parking restriction is now lifted for Ottawa.
Another overnight parking restriction will be issued by the City when required.

Ottawa - Les opérations de déneigement des rues de la ville entreprises à la suite de la récente accumulation de neige sont terminées. Par conséquent, l’interdiction de stationner la nuit dans les rues d’Ottawa est maintenant levée.
Une nouvelle interdiction de stationner la nuit dans les rues pourrait être émise par la Ville au besoin.

Presidents Update:      A.)   Eagleson/March Bridge has been closed to pedestrians for this Winter.         
B.)   Saturday, February 7th - Councillor Hubley is hosting a community breakfast (8:30 am) at Don Cherry`s Sports Grill.   Tickets at $15.00 each are available at Don Cherry’s or from Councillor Hubley at  allan.hubley@Ottawa.ca                                                         
 C.)    West District Budget Consultation 2015 will be held on Tuesday, February 10 from 7:30 pm. to 9:30 pm. in the cafeteria of Holy Trinity Catholic High School, 160 Katimavik Road.   Suggestions may be sent in through email: budget2015@ottawa.ca  or by using Twitter hashtag:  #ottbudget.    For budget information, please visit:  http://ottawa.ca/budget2015                                                      D.)    Sunday, February 22 from 2 pm to 4 pm will be the Young’s Pond Park Community Skating Party

F.)    Events since Dec. 1st:       4th Kanata Scouts – French/bilingual scout troop.     200 residents took the Councillor’s Christmas Wagon rides.      With Councillor Hubley’s support, KHCA was able have a Jan. 1st, 2015 Kanata Kourier-Standard colour advertisement of six Lighten the Night 2014 wining homes.  Regrettably, it misidentified 25 Tamblyn Crescent and 39 Dressler Drive.        Federation of Citizen Associations concerned about community mailboxes, zoning, infill and high rise intensification.       The Hilton Hotel and Apartments proposal was challenged: i) on its ugliness; ii) on whether it not only fits in with but also enhances adjacent properties; and iii) on its failure to be innovative and sustainable.      The Mayor and the NCC will resolve LRT route issues from Dominion Station to Lincoln Fields Station.  

Treasurer report the not committed balance in Operating Fund.
-- To propose a new name for Walter Baker Place, please forward your new name for the street - once the list for change is posted on City website.     The consideration of a new name for Walter Baker Park is not yet arranged.      A number of Katimavik Hazeldean residents support the renaming of both Walter Baker Park and Walter Baker Place
-- City tree protection program against the Ash Borer is doubted by Ecology Ottawa.    Over Twenty Million ash trees are dying

Ottawa – Due to weather conditions, overnight parking restrictions are in effect tonight from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. across Ottawa. This overnight parking restriction will remain in effect until the City announces it has been lifted.
During an overnight parking restriction, vehicles are banned from parking on any city street so that crews can clear them easily and effectively. Vehicles that remain parked on the street during an overnight parking restriction will be ticketed. On-street parking permit holders are exempt from this restriction.

Ottawa - En raison des intempéries, il sera interdit de laisser des véhicules stationnés dans les rues de la ville cette nuit entre 1 h et 7 h du matin. Cette interdiction demeurera en vigueur jusqu’à ce que la Ville annonce qu’elle a été levée.
Lorsque l’interdiction de stationner la nuit est en vigueur, il n’est pas permis de laisser des véhicules stationnés dans les rues de la ville. Cette mesure vise à donner la possibilité aux équipes de déneigement de déblayer les rues facilement et efficacement. Les propriétaires de véhicules garés dans les rues alors que les restrictions relatives au stationnement de nuit en hiver sont en vigueur recevront une contravention. L’interdiction ne s’applique pas aux titulaires de permis de stationnement sur rue.
