DiscoverRec: What does Fall mean to us?!

What does Fall mean to us?!

With exciting things happening in our facilities, fitness programs,
performing arts and recreation programming, there are lots of
reasons to Fall into Fun! A full list of activities across the City
can be found in our online Recreation eGuide.

Trick or Swim or Skate for Halloween!

Tickets on sale October 1: 10 for $10. Give the ghosts and
goblins at your door a treat they will love! Purchase 10 public
swim or skate tickets for only $10! On sale, while supplies last,
until October 31 at City of Ottawa swimming pools and select arenas
Tickets are for kids ages 3 to 15 and are valid from
November 1, 2015 to January 31, 2016.

Public skating season kicks off in October!

Just like walking, running or swimming, ice skating offers a
great workout while being easy on the joints! Use our
convenient search tool  to find locations and times in your area for
public and family skates. Children aged 10 and under, as well as
beginner skaters of all ages, are required to wear a Canadian
Standards Association (CSA) approved helmet while attending
City of Ottawa indoor public skate sessions.

We also offer skating programs, whether you are looking to
learn to skate, or develop your skills such as figure skating,
speed skating or power skating. All participants must wear
CSA approved hockey helmets.

Parent & Child Expo

Join us at the Parent & Child Expo at the Nepean
Sportsplex from October 24 – 25! Grab yourself a Dexter
he Parcasaurus colouring book and learn more about our
programs and services!

Celebrating!

If you belong to a community group that likes to
plan celebrations, then Civic Events funding might
interest you.  Local not for profit organizations can
apply for funds to celebrate a civic or statutory holiday
in 2016.  Deadline for application is Thursday,
October 22, 2015.  Check out the guidelines

Welcoming Creativity!

A spark of creativity may just turn into a lifetime
passion!  Try a new program or workshop this Fall
at the Nepean Visual Arts Centre, including:

Leaves – September 30 to December 2
Explore the leaves as they change through the
season! Create small paintings as you master
watercolour techniques and composition.

Coloured Reflections - October 6 to November 10
Explore your inner world and learn about yourself
through creative expression in theme-based art
and imagery.
