Suburban driveway by-law amendments

Your feedback is requested within the next three weeks on the proposed Zoning By-Law amendments on suburban driveway requirements.

The proposed amendment to the text of the Zoning By-law will affect the rules governing residential driveways in Kanata and other outer suburban communities. A map showing the study area can be viewed at http://Ottawa.ca/driveways 
Details of Zoning By-law Amendment Proposal:
  • The purpose of the zoning amendment is to more readily allow residential driveways in the outer suburbs to be widened, subject to a maximum of 50% of the lot width or 2.6m, whichever is greater.
Approval Timelines & Authority:
  • Residents and community associations have to provide any comments to the planner by December 3, 2013.  Comments sent or copied to president@khca.on.ca prior to the end of the month will be considered in our response.
  • The target date for the application to be considered by the City’s Planning Committee is January 28, 2014.
