Bicycles are vehicles and cyclists have the same rights and the same responsibilities as motorists.

Ride Defensively. Be predictable.
Ride in a straight line.
Cycle on the right side of the road. Ride at least one meter from the curb.
Stop at all stop signs and all red lights.
Use proper hand signals when turning and when stopping.
Always check over your shoulder when turning.
Give Pedestrians the right of way. Ride on the road, not the sidewalk.
Use proper lighting when riding at night.

Bicycles must have a functioning bell which cyclists must use to warn pedestrians on joint pathways, such as in parks, that a bicycle is approaching.
Wear a CSA certified helmet. It is the law for cyclists under 18 years old.
