Invitation to Nov 5 KHCA AGM,

The 2012 Annual General Meeting of the Katimavik Hazeldean Community Association on November 5 at the Community Room of Katimavik Elementary School will get underway at 7:30 pm.
The agenda includes a wide range of items running from the updating of the Constitution and By-laws and concern about OC Transpo service on to addressing the proposed replacement of 23 Bachman Terrace and the opportunity to participate in the association by voting on the officers or by offering to join the directors yourself.    
The Association will of course will update on finances and activities for the past year.   Set out plans for the coming winter season including the Christmas Holiday Season Lights contest which Home Depot Canada and Hazeldean Mall are providing prizes.
The update of the constitution and the bylaws into By-law No.1 was circulated on September 22 for consideration and voting at this November 5 AGM.   
Concerns about OC Transpo service focuses on parking at Eagleson Park & Ride difficulties and areas left without express bus service by route optimization taken together these matters provide the opportunity improve OC Transpo service throughout the day including KHCA
The will be an opportunity for residents to express their views on the idea of replacing of 23 Bachman Terrace with a 24 unit four storey (ground floor garage) apartment building.     Attached are copies of the letter  to neighbours from the builder and a overhead view indicating the proposed footprint.
You are invited to become KHCA members.     Community Association membership fees are currently $5.00 per year per family.      New members will enable KHCA to improve and expand its activities.    
The association is currently looking volunteers to serve as secretary and  as the director of communications/webmaster still we are willing to fit all volunteers into the group.    
If you would like to see other activities beyond the basic December to March period - Christmas Holiday Season Lights, outdoor rinks and winter family day events and Park cleanups for the Spring and Fall – we’d like your ideas and your help.
