Christmas-Holiday Season Home Lights Contest

The Katimavik-Hazeldean Community Association invites all residents of Katimavik-Hazeldean to take part in the Christmas-Holiday Season Home Lights contest.

The annual Katimavik-Hazeldean Christmas-Holiday lights decorating contest is open for nominations. You may nominate a house in your neighborhood that lightens the night with the an email to president@khca.on.ca.    Tell us the street address of the nominated home, why you like the decorations and your name and address.  You may nominate your own home.

The deadline for nominations is  11:59 pm Friday, December 16, 2011.

Judges will be looking at homes on Sunday, December 18 so be sure leave your lights on that night.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three homeowners and a special "Best Block 2011" designation recorded in favour of Katimavik-Hazeldean block with the best decorated homes.

Pictures of winning homes will be posted on the KHCA website and the KHCA Facebook page, and prizes distributed at KHCA's  January 9 regular meeting.

ARC Public Meetings # 4 (last)

On behalf of one of our residents:  Provide feedback on Accommodation Review Committees (ARC) for Kanata North and Kanata South (both involve Katimavik-Hazeldean!)

Kanata North (Nov 16, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM @ Earl Of March SS) Kanata South (Nov 16, 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM @ A Y Jackson SS)

Preliminary recommendations will be presented at this meeting.

Kanata ARC South and ARC North have posted their preliminary recommendations that will be presented at the Nov 16th meetings. Final recommendation will be made after considering feedback from Nov 16th meetings.

ARC South has decided to recommend a Modified version of Option 2 from Oct 16th public meeting. Details will be or should be available at the public meeting. Change from Oct 16th option 2 is in some Katimavik-Hazeldean English students attending Glen Cairn ES instead of Castlefrank-Katimavik ES Combo. EOM & AYJ SS boundary change is not recommended but feedback from Nov 16th meetings could change that.

What To Do:
Please attend the ARC public meeting/ meetings on Nov 16th and provide your feedback (till Nov 30).

for the new earth berm located behind the homes on Peary Way.

At the information session you will have the opportunity to:
• Review plans displaying the existing conditions
• Receive general information on the scope of proposed works.
• Bring forth any issues pertaining to the project that have not yet been identified.

2011 Annual General Meeting on Nov 7 -- Assemblée générale 7 nov

The annual general meeting of the Katimavik-Hazeldean Community Association on Monday, November 7 in the Community Room at Katimavik Elementary School, 64 Chimo Drive, beginning at 7:30 pm.

The business meeting consisting of the year report and election of officers.  Nominations for positions may be made from the floor and all nominees must be members of the Katimavik-Hazeldean Community Association at the time of nomination.

Then there will be a presentation with Q & A on the services provided by the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre.  This will provide an opportunity to request additional WOCRC services which residents may want to have. 

All residents of Katimavik-Hazeldean are welcome to attend.
 L'assemblée générale de l'association communautaire Katimavik-Hazeldean aura lieu le lundi, 7 novembre, à 19h30, dans la salle communautaire de Katimavik Elementary School au 64 promenade Chimo.

À l'agenda: le rapport annuel et l'élection des officiers pour 2011-2012.  Tout membre présent de l'association peut être nominé par les participants.
Il y aura aussi une présentation et discussion comportant sur les services offerts par le
Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre. Il sera alors possible de proposer des services additionnels dont pourraient bénéficier les résidents. 

Tous les résidents de Katimavik-Hazeldean sont les bienvenus.
