No Smoking at Katimavik Play Structures

Because of the risks to young children in particular from exposure to tobacco smoke in an effort to remind smokers that they should refrain from smoking near children, The Katimavik-Hazeldean Community Association has invited the City’s  Medical Officer of Health staff to include our 20 Katimavik Park Play Structures in its program of posting No Smoking Signage at City Park play structures.

We have been advised that this Spring the signs  will be posted at some Katimavik Park Play Structures, but probably not all of our Katimavik Park Structures.
When we are informed as to which ones we shall advise the Katimavik Community.

We trust that all residents will cooperate in this effort to safeguard our children from the dangers of second hand smoke especially while they are enjoying the play structures at our Katimavik Parks.

Thank you very much in advance,

Rod MacLean
