"Green" grants to community groups

Do you have charitable status with a project or initiative with clearly anticipated outcomes, likely to command attention in the community and persuade people and organizations to adopt or adapt techniques and practices proven by the project?

The Ottawa Sustainability Fund supports projects in the community that educate and inspire citizens and organizations to act to make the City of Ottawa more sustainable. The Fund awards grants each year from its flow-through account plus the income from its endowment account. It supported one project in 2009, three in 2010 and two in January 2011.

From News Release:

OTTAWA, ON - February 1, 2011 - The Ottawa Sustainability Fund (OSF) is pleased to announce that it has awarded two grants of $5,000 each to non-profit, charitable organizations for the development of sustainability projects in the city of Ottawa.

The grant recipients were selected following an evaluation of submissions to the OSF's latest call for applications in December 2010, which sought proposals for projects which would address climate change and have measurable results.

1. Ottawa Stewardship Council - Alternative Domestic Air Conditioning Evaluation and Promotion Project

2. Anglican Parish of Huntley - Solar Photovoltaic Project.
